What Couple is Suing HGTV Over “Love It Or List It” Renovations

If you’re one of the millions of people who watch reality shows on HGTV, then you’ve probably heard of “Love It or List It.” Each episode features an interior designer and a realtor renovating a home, before the homeowner has a chance to decide whether they want to love it or list it for sale. The show is a hit, but some homeowners have found themselves in trouble because they allegedly didn’t get what they expected from the renovations.

A North Carolina couple is suing HGTV over what they say was shoddy work from the production company that runs the show. Deena Murphy and Timothy Sullivan, who own a rental house in Raleigh, claim that the show turned their house into a nightmare. They say the show left them with a house that wasn’t finished and was full of holes and low-grade industrial carpet.

They claim that the contractor Aaron Fitz and Big Coat TV didn’t deliver what they promised. They say their home was ruined, with low-grade industrial carpet, several holes in the floor and windows painted shut.

The couple is suing both the Canadian production company and the contractor they hired to do the work, and the lawsuit is now in court. Their lawyer claims that the couple was misled about what would happen with their money, and that they were treated poorly by the contractors.

During their time on the show, the couple agreed to deposit $140,000 for the work, but they said they were disappointed with what they saw. They were upset with the work done by Aaron Fitz, a contractor with poor online ratings who they felt didn’t do the best job.

According to the lawsuit, they were also notified by the production company that they had to pay for more than 50% of the cost of the renovations. They were also unsure if the show would actually pay for the rest of the costs, such as the flooring.

This isn’t the first time that a show has been sued for its work. Other popular shows, like “Property Brothers,” “Flip or Flop Las Vegas,” and “Renovate My Family,” have faced legal issues as well.

A North Carolina couple says that they were cheated by the producers of HGTV’s “Love It or List It” when it came to their renovation. The couple said that their home was ruined by the contractors, and they want the money back from the producers of the show.

They’re suing the Canadian production company that produces the show as well as the contractor they used to do the work, and the lawsuit is in court. They say the renovations were not what they wanted, and that they were ripped off by the contractors.

The lawsuit is a bit scary, but it might be worth it if the couple can get some compensation from the producers of the show. The production company of the show, Big Coat TV, is aware that the lawsuit has been filed and is ready to defend itself in court.
