The Samuel C Sachs Branch of the St Louis County Library Reopens

After being closed since late July due to an employee’s COVID-19 infection, the Samuel C. Sachs Branch is reopening for curbside service on Wednesday. The branch is also offering book drop services for patrons who are unable to return their books in person.

Located in Chesterfield, Missouri, the Samuel C. Sachs Branch was built on a three-acre site donated by Louis Sachs, the late CEO of Sachs Properties. Louis Sachs made the donation in memory of his father, Samuel Sachs. The branch opened on November 11, 2002, and was designed by Hellmuth, Obata & Kassabaum. In 2011, the library opened its Nancy Greenwood Teen Center, named for former Chesterfield mayor Nancy Greenwood. Sculptures by internationally and nationally known artists are on display at the library.

The Samuel C. Sachs Branch is part of the Your Library Renewed campaign, an ongoing $120 million project that will replace or renovate 19 branches. This location is the first of five to reopen this summer. It is located at 16400 Burkhardt, Chesterfield, Missouri.
