The End of BBC Football Results

For many people, BBC Football Results are an important part of their Sunday afternoon routine. They are read out on the BBC’s flagship radio programme Sports Report after every football match. The results are usually read out in alphabetical order, with the highest leagues being read out first. This has been the case for many years, and it is a tradition that has been cherished by many people.

But this service has now been discontinued. The BBC has dropped classified results from its Saturday afternoon Sports Report. It has also cut the time for a live Premier League match on its radio show. The reason given for the decision is time, as the results typically take five to six minutes to read.
