Susan B Anthony Dollar Coins – Wide Rim Vs Narrow Rim

When you look at the different Susan B. Anthony dollar coins available, it is possible to distinguish between the wide-rim variety and the narrow-rim variety. The narrow-rim variety is more common, while the wide-rim variety is scarcer.

Wide-rim varieties have a wider rim than narrow-rim varieties. Although the wide-rim variety is rare, they can be found for very affordable prices. Coins in high grades can fetch anywhere from $30 to several hundred dollars. The text on the obverse of the coin reads: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The inscription below the obverse states: “E PLURIBUUS UNUM.” The reverse of the coin shows the date.

In the 1980s, the U.S. Mint issued coins in both varieties. One was the Eisenhower dollar, which had the same design on both sides. It was the first circulating dollar coin to bear the “P” Mint mark and only the second of all denominations. There are 15 coins in a set of Susan B. Anthony dollars. Wide rim coins are rarer than narrow rim coins.

The wide rim coins have a softer rim than narrow-rim coins. They are valued more than narrow-rim coins. The wide rim versions have the same mintmark, which makes them more desirable. They are worth between $50 and $100 each.

Proof coins in 1979 were also produced using a new mint mark punch. These coins include the penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, and one-dollar. Proof coins of 1979 are available in two varieties, the narrow and the wide. The latter is the most desirable, and it carries the highest premium.

In 1979, the United States Mint produced Susan B. Anthony dollar coins for only four years. The design was by Frank Gasparro, who also designed the reverse. The coin is more durable than the paper version and lasts for a long time.
