During his high school days, Schea Cotton was touted as the next great player in the NBA. He was a head and shoulders above all other teenagers in his age group. His dunks were comparable to Vince Carter and Kevin Durant, and he had the body of LeBron James. He even had a shoe contract with Nike. He was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated and had a promising career.
In college, Cotton was a star in the SEC, earning second team all-conference honors in the SEC. He averaged 15.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He was also a McDonald’s All-American. He was named the CIF State Player of the Year in 1995. In addition to being a starting point guard, he was a defender and a rebounder.
