Pacho Herrera

Amongst the many names on the Colombian Cali Cartel’s rungs, Pacho Herrera is one of the most prominent ring leaders. After Pablo Escobar’s death, Pacho took over the organization and became one of the largest cocaine traffickers in the world. In the early 1990s, Cali was pulling in eight billion dollars a year. The cartel supplied eighty percent of the cocaine in the world.

Pacho Herrera began his life as a jeweler in New York City. His father Benjamin Herrera Zuleta is said to have disowned him for his homosexuality. But Pacho’s father would never be happy about his son becoming a drug lord. He left his family in the late 1970s to become a member of the Cali Cartel. In the early 1980s, Pacho joined the cartel and was soon involved in cocaine smuggling.

He opened new smuggling routes between Mexico and the United States. He also developed the most sophisticated money laundering operation in the Cali Cartel. His gang also had extensive contacts in the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) and April 19 Movement. He was also very savvy and intelligent. He knew that he would make more money by selling cocaine rather than using the drug as a money-maker.

Pacho’s father, Benjamin Herrera Zuleta, was an Afro-Colombian smuggler. He had two other children. After a short stint in New York, Pacho returned to Colombia to become a member of the Cali Cartel.

He became the leader of the Cali Cartel in Palmira, Colombia. He was later made leader of Jamundi, and then Yumbo. He also helped develop cocaine processing sites in Bolivia and Peru. He negotiated supply privileges for the New York cocaine market, and opened his own cocaine smuggling routes through Mexico. He had 32 companies and 12 ranches. The New York Times estimated that he had a net worth of over a billion dollars.

He was one of the four godfathers of the Cali Cartel. He was known for his bold and flashy lifestyle. He lived in a mansion with white marble floors. He wore leather clad biker outfits. He had a casual approach to extreme violence. He was a very successful drug lord, but also had plenty of enemies.

Pacho Herrera was assassinated in 1998 by the Norte del Valle Cartel. He was killed in a prison yard by a man posing as a lawyer. The motives behind the shooter’s actions remain unknown. However, Herrera was one of the last Cali Cartel leaders to be arrested. His death is portrayed more or less accurately in the show.

He was a friend of Pablo Escobar, and also had many enemies. His enemies included police officers and the families of politicians who were assassinated. He also had an extensive network of snitches. He often tortured entire families.

He was also an openly gay man, which is something that other writers have also claimed. His lifestyle was documented in the book At the Devil’s Table.

He was portrayed by Alberto Ammann in the Netflix series Narcos. The show also looks at his personal life and the way he lived as an openly gay drug lord.
