LG 27GP700-B – A Review of the LG 27GP950-B Gaming Monitor

The LG 27GP700-B is a 27-inch gaming monitor. It features a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 99% sRGB color gamut, and a tilt adjustment. It is also compatible with VESA mounting. Its other features include blue light filter, a 100 x 100 mm VESA mounting, flicker-reduced background lighting, and FreeSync Premium and G-Sync-compatible Adaptive Sync. A few downsides to this monitor include its lack of a USB connection, but other than that, it’s a great gaming monitor.

The LG 27GP950 delivers mediocre black uniformity, and local dimming does little to improve it. The screen is also prone to bleed in the four corners, making it difficult to get a crisp image with this monitor. The LG 27GP950 is not a bad gaming monitor, but it’s not the best choice for people who want to play games in a dark room.

After calibration, this monitor’s color volume is excellent. Colors are nearly spot-on, and it supports hardware calibration. It also works with virtually all sources and offers full coverage of the sRGB and Adobe RGB color spaces. However, the contrast ratio is quite low and it doesn’t display dark saturated colors well. However, its high refresh rate is impressive, and you can easily overclock its CPU to produce more vivid and accurate images.

The LG 27GP950-B is part of LG’s UltraGear gaming lineup. It supports HDMI 2.1 and is overclockable to 160Hz. It is also slightly better than the LG 27GN950-B, and it has better HDR color gamut and DCI P3 coverage. Its ergonomics are also much better, and it has two HDMI 2.1 ports.
