Learning the English Alphabet by Association

When learning the English alphabet, children often associate the letters with historical figures and objects. In some places, such as Uttar Pradesh, the apple is substituted by Arjun while in others, Balarama is used instead of a ball. In some places, the letter C is associated with the cat Chanakya. Children in some parts of India learn all 26 letters of the English alphabet by association.

One school principal in Lucknow wants to change that. He has created a PDF file which tells the students which letters represent the Hindu deities, mythological characters, and historical figures. The document has since gone viral on social media. The principal of the school hopes to make learning the alphabet easier for children in rural areas.
