Jenna Hayes – Director of Stage Right Jr. Summer Theater Camp

Jenna Hayes graduated from the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University and is certified to teach music in the pre-k-12th grade. She taught choir for a year in the Butler Area School District before joining the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church as a music teacher in 2016. She also enjoys singing in the Belle Voci Choir. She enjoys spending time with children and learning about their families and favorite activities.

Jenna Hayes is a 2019 graduate of Kings Park High School

Jenna Hayes is a recent Kings Park High School graduate who played volleyball for two years and was a Suffolk County Champion. She also won the Long Island Championship and placed third at the New York State Championship. She is also a member of the American Sign Language Honor Society. She is the daughter of Thomas and Suzanne Hayes. During her freshman year, Hayes played in 18 matches and recorded 30 kills, 12 digs, and six blocks.

She studied music education at Duquesne University

Jenna Hayes has a passion for teaching music to children. She studied voice and choral music at Duquesne University, and now brings her passion for music to children at Fox Hill. She is certified to teach prek-12th grade. She previously taught middle school music in the Butler Area School District. She joined the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church as a music teacher in 2016. Her favorite part of the job is working with kids and learning about their interests and families.

The College of Music at Duquesne University provides students with a diverse education. Its music education program prepares students to teach in a public school or private studio. Students take classes in music theory, aural skills, and history of music. The program also includes courses in music technology and entrepreneurship.

The Department of Music Education at Duquesne University has a distinguished alumni list. Graduates have given presentations at national conferences and organizations. Recent alumni include Kyle Chandler, Erik Johnson, and Bryan Koerner. She is also a member of the board of the DC Strings Workshop, which brings music to underserved neighborhoods in Washington, DC.

After graduating from the school, Hayes is planning to become a music teacher in New York City. She is now working with the Education Through Music program. Other students are pursuing other careers. Leawndra Oseghali will teach music in NYC with the Education Through Music program. And Kristina Shafranski, a vocal performance major and political science minor, will attend the Chicago College of Performing Arts.

While at Duquesne, Hayes participated in the prestigious festival for music educators. She also performed at the annual CMEA conference. She has performed at prestigious venues including the ATLAS Black Box Theater. She has also performed with the Eastman School of Music Faculty Artist Series and the Eastman School of Music.

She is a certified teacher

She has experience teaching prek-12th grade and working with young audiences in both public and private settings. Her favorite part of her job is getting to know the kids and their families. She is passionate about music and enjoys sharing it with them.

Originally from Los Angeles, Hayes earned her BA and Master’s degrees from California Lutheran University. She also has experience teaching in a variety of business settings. She has taught middle school and high school students with disabilities and also has experience working with general education students. She is committed to working with young learners and developing their critical thinking skills.

A certified teacher with over five years of experience, Jenna combines a love of teaching and learning. She has a passion for fostering children’s independence and ensuring their academic success. During her free time, she enjoys yoga and spending time with her family. She is also an active member of her community.

Although she no longer teaches in a classroom, Hayes is now working to hire qualified teachers for Waterbury Public Schools. Upon completion of the Relay program, Relay graduates are required to go through district-led professional development. The program aims to expand enrollment and provides opportunities for teachers to gain experience before entering the classroom.

She has a bachelor’s degree in English from Dominican University. Her other interests include cooking, reading, and exercising. She also values spending time with her family and exploring new places. She also loves spending time with her dog and watching her favorite sports teams. She enjoys exploring new things and trying new foods.

She is an English teacher. She moved to Nebraska after college and taught English at North Star High School. She also helped supervise student volunteer work at a no-kill animal shelter. Her community connections allowed her to provide these opportunities to students. She has experience teaching in high-performing and special-needs environments. She strives to help each student succeed.
