How Do I Verify PayPal on iTunes?
If you are using PayPal to purchase items on iTunes or the App Store you may have encountered a problem where you are being told your payment method is declined. This can happen if there is a billing issue with your account or if the information you have on file is incorrect. Before you start getting frustrated with these messages there are a few things to try that might fix the problem.
The first step is to make sure that all of the information on file with Apple is accurate. This means making sure that the name and address you have on file with Apple matches the information on your bank statement. If you are not sure what the problem is it might be a good idea to contact your bank and see if they can help you resolve the issue.
Another thing that you can try is to sign out of the iTunes Store on all of your devices and restart them. This will usually reset the system and get rid of any errors that might be causing problems. Finally, if you continue to have trouble with your PayPal account and iTunes account you should reach out to the PayPal Support team to see what else they can do to assist you.
PayPal has recently added the ability to use its service as a payment option on Apple products and services, including iTunes, App Store, iCloud storage and Apple Music. The new feature is available now in Mexico and Canada and will launch in other countries, including the U.S, “soon after.” The integration also brings PayPal’s One Touch mobile feature to iOS, allowing users to authenticate purchases with a fingerprint on the iPhone, Apple Watch or iPad.
To get started, users can add their PayPal account to the Manage Payments section of their Apple ID Settings on any iPhone, iPad or iPod. From there, any future purchases made in iTunes, App Store or iCloud will automatically be charged to the PayPal balance instead of the credit or debit card that is currently on file. To do this, simply select PayPal as the preferred payment option and then authenticate each purchase with a finger swipe on the lock screen or within the app.
While it may not be as convenient as using a credit or debit card directly, it’s certainly a step in the right direction. This is especially true considering that PayPal has a strong buyer protection policy, meaning that there’s no obvious way scammers could use this as an opportunity to steal money from their customers.
