Catholic Wedding Budget – How Much Do Wedding Altar Servers Cost?

Whether you’re planning a traditional Catholic wedding or a more nontraditional one, it’s important to have a budget that covers all of your needs. That includes everything from the church fees to your dress and the reception venue.

Some of the first things you’ll want to include in your budget are the wedding altar servers, musicians, and other wedding vendors who will help make your ceremony and reception run smoothly. These are all necessary for a Catholic wedding to be properly held, but they can also be very expensive and if you’re on a tight budget, they might not be as easy to fit into your plan.

Altar Servers

There are two altar servers assigned to each wedding. It’s customary to give each server a small offering at the end of the wedding and to provide them with a monetary gift as well.

Music

Choosing appropriate music for a wedding is not only a personal choice, but it’s also a very important one. It’s important to work closely with the priest and organist in selecting songs that express your faith, but also fit into the liturgical style of the church.

If you have a specific song in mind that you’d like to use, contact the parish music director and let them know you’ll be using it for your wedding. They’ll be happy to talk to you about it and help you decide if it’s right for the occasion.

The Wedding Rehearsal

It’s a great idea to have the officiating priest, lector, and other members of your wedding party participate in the rehearsal. This will allow everyone to be familiar with each other and with the layout of the church. This will also be a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about the ceremony or your specific wishes.

Flowers

A lovely way to show your love for the church and to pay tribute to your parents or other family members is to have a beautiful floral arrangement in the sanctuary and on some of the pews. It’s a nice touch and can add a pop of color to the space without breaking your budget.

The Reception

Once the ceremony is over, guests are welcome to celebrate with the couple at the reception. It’s a wonderful way to end the wedding and start your new life together, but it’s important to keep in mind that it’s the bride and groom who are the focus of the celebration.

Ushers

It’s also important to have ushers on hand during the wedding so that they can help people find their seats and assist with any last-minute logistics. We recommend having about one usher for every fifty guests.

Ring Bearers and Flower Girls

A ring bearer or flower girl is not required at the wedding but it can be a nice addition if you want to have someone there to hold the rings for the bride and groom. However, they should not be less than 5 years old because children of this age can panic in a large crowd and it may disrupt the proceedings.
