Can You Tame Pandas in MineCraft?

In Minecraft, players can build all sorts of things, explore their world, and even tame animals to become pets. These animals can be simple pets or even useful creatures, such as pigs and horses. But what if you want to tame something that’s a little out there?

Pandas are one of the most adorable animals in the game. They’re neutral mobs that don’t attack unless provoked, and they also have unique personalities, including normal pandas and brown ones!

Can You Tame Pandas in MineCraft?

You can’t tame pandas in Minecraft – which is probably sad, but it’s not a terrible thing. While it’s not impossible, it’s not the easiest thing to do either. That said, there are a few ways you can befriend a panda and get them to act like pets in Minecraft!

Befriending a Panda

The first step to becoming friends with a panda in Minecraft is feeding them their favorite food. This will help them bond with you and keep them calm. Pandas love to eat bamboo, and you can find it growing naturally in jungle biomes. Once you have bamboo in your inventory, give the panda a chunk of it and let them pick it up.

This will cause them to follow you everywhere (as long as you’re holding it), and they’ll produce hearts whenever they see you. You’ll need to feed them a lot of bamboo, so you should start with two or three pieces and keep adding more as they eat them!

Create a Panda Refuge

Once you’ve tamed a panda, it will need to live in a safe and warm place. This can be as simple as creating a cave, or it could be a more elaborate area with a shallow pond to bathe in and an escape-proof shelter to keep them out of the dangers of the wild.

To make your Panda Refuge, you’ll need to craft a large enough area for them to move around in and breed, but that should be pretty easy. It should be a safe space for them to sleep and play, and it should have at least eight blocks of bamboo within a five-block radius of each other throughout the area.

Using Bamboo

The best way to feed your Pandas is to use bamboo, which is found naturally in jungle biomes and can be sourced from fishing in them. When you have bamboo in your inventory, give it to the panda and it will pick it up and eat it.

You’ll then need to repeat this process several times, until you begin seeing red hearts appear over their heads. When this happens, you’ll know you’ve tamed your panda!

If you have a friend, try to do this with them, as it will make the process much easier. They’ll also be able to help you out if the panda becomes injured or sick.

Breeding a Panda

Once you’ve tamed your panda, it will need to breed to become an adult. It can take a while for them to do this, but they’ll eventually. You can speed up this process by giving them bamboo recently.
