B&B Theatres Liberty 12

The B&B Theatres Liberty 12 opened on July 12 and is the company’s flagship location. The company operates 50 locations in seven states. The Liberty 12 features a 244-seat ScreenX auditorium with MX4D technology and a Lyric Theatre, which can host private events.

The Liberty, MO-based chain recently announced that it has acquired a 12-screen cinema in Athens, Georgia. The theatre is slated to open in April. It has also recently been engaged in comprehensive remodeling efforts at its locations. Currently, the company owns approximately a third of its locations, while leasing the rest.

The B&B Theatres name comes from the initials of Bills and Bagby, two brothers who first started a movie theater business together. The pair shared a passion for the entertainment industry, and a mutual love for each other led them to partner. The pair first opened their first movie theater in 1924 in Salisbury, MO. They then traveled around rural Missouri with seats and equipment. They eventually expanded into drive-in theatres and eventually cemented their friendship.
