Are Taylor Swift and Katy Perry friends?

The two singers have been rumored to be feuding for years, but are they actually friends?
Considering how much they’re involved in pop culture, it’s no surprise that their relationship is full of drama. They’ve had a number of high-profile beefs over the years, from Swift’s 2014 rant about Calvin Harris to the rumors that Perry tried to hire her backup dancers to help on her arena tour.

The first time the feud came to light was in 2013 when three dancers who were on Swift’s Red Tour allegedly left to go work on Perry’s Prism Tour instead. This started a small rift between the two that eventually became a major controversy.

After Swift wrote her song “Bad Blood” in 2015, a lot of people thought the track was about their rivalry. The song was interpreted as a veiled attack against Perry.

However, the pair has since buried their hatchet and are now reportedly on good terms with each other. In fact, in June 2019, Swift revealed that she and Perry had a conversation about their friendship.

Are Taylor Swift and Katy Perry still besties?

Before their infamous feud, the two were total besties, bonding over their love of cats and baking. They even had a few moments of harmony when Swift performed on Perry’s Fearless tour in 2010.

Their friendship was sweet and supportive, with Swift sharing photos of the pair together on Instagram and sending messages on Twitter. They were also known for their adoring fandoms, which made it hard to imagine them ever becoming enemies.

They had a public fall out in 2014, when Swift claimed that Perry tried to sabotage her arena tour by hiring her backup dancers to perform on her tour. The two have since reconciled, and a few months after Swift and Perry reunited, Swift sent an olive branch to her dressing room on the first day of her Reputation Stadium Tour.

The olive branch didn’t exactly end the feud – Perry did try to get her revenge in a few ways. In February 2016, Perry put Swift on a guestlist for her private pre-Grammys party, which led fans to believe that the two were on good terms again.

But things didn’t last long. A few months later, Katy Perry’s Twitter was hacked, and several out-of-character tweets were posted to her account. One of those posts mentioned that Perry missed her former boyfriend, Taylor Swift.

This was followed by an inflammatory tweet that essentially accused Taylor of trying to tear her ex-bf down for something to do, which many fans interpreted as a dig at Swift’s current relationship with Calvin Harris.

A few months later, after their reconciliation, they were both on the press tour for Perry’s new album Witness, where she had some candid talk about her beef with Swift. In one interview, Perry mentioned that she was not happy with the way Swift treated her dancers during their time on tour, and that she had a lot of beef with the group’s manager.
