Are Integrated and Onkyo the Same?

Onkyo and Integrated share a similar history and even share the same factory. They also have similar features, including THX certification. However, you should be aware that the companies do not manufacture identical products. Hence, you should choose the product that suits your preferences.

Integrated and Onkyo have a long history

Integrated and Onkyo have a rich history. During the early years of the audio industry, Onkyo led the industry in upscaling product assortments and developed a reputation for sonic performance and durability. In recent years, however, the two companies have struggled and issues have arisen that have put both companies’ futures at risk.

Founded in 1948, the Onkyo company has developed numerous audio products that have won awards and accolades over the years. These include the ED-100 speakers, one of the world’s first component stereo systems, the Integra amplifier series, and the classic M series speakers. Other notable products from Onkyo include the world’s first dual-cassette deck and the first CD player with optical output. And most recently, Onkyo has developed the world’s first THX-certified home theatre package.

Onkyo started out making high-quality loudspeakers and transducers. From those humble beginnings, the brand became revered in Japan. At one point, it was even considered the best loudspeaker manufacturer in Japan. In subsequent years, the company expanded into amplifiers and turntables. They followed the highest standards of engineering and innovation, resulting in products that were not only impressive in aesthetics but also boasted industry-leading sound quality.

The ED-100 was the first Onkyo speaker. Today, the company’s ED-100 speakers deliver a great listening experience and are available in floor-standing stereo systems and multi-speaker home theatre systems. The company also offers models with Dolby Atmos 3D support and thunderous bass. The company has been a leader in the home audio industry for many years and has early partnerships with THX.

They share a factory

In a bizarre move, Integra and Onkyo have merged to form one manufacturer. VOXX International, a Japanese electronics company, owns 75% of the company, while Sharp holds the remaining 25%. While the company shares the same factory, it is not clear exactly how the merger will impact their respective products. Regardless, the new parent company will continue to manufacture Integra and Onkyo audio/video products in Malaysia.

Onkyo is the leader in the audio home entertainment market, selling an array of high-end components such as amplifiers, subwoofers, and A/V receivers. The company also licenses products from Pioneer, including sound bars, home theater systems, and more.

While both manufacturers use high-quality components, the performance difference between Integra and Onkyo’s flagship models may be due to a higher tolerance in Onkyo’s components. In addition, Integra offers a longer warranty than Onkyo. However, it is important to note that this does not apply to all models.

The Onkyo brand has suffered a difficult transition. It filed for bankruptcy in Japan on May 13 because of financial problems. Its liabilities amounted to 3.1 billion yen (US$24 million). Many feared the Onkyo brand would never come back. But thankfully, the company has regrouped. Its audio/video division is now owned by Voxx International.

Integra and Onkyo share a production facility, but they are made differently. The Integra line is targeted to the CEDIA/AV specialist, while the Onkyo line is geared towards the general consumer. Integra is not sold through big-box retailers, and Onkyo products are mostly sold online.

They have similar features

The Integra and Onkyo home theater receivers offer a lot of similar features. They both use the same remote controls and share similar physical features. Both Integra and Onkyo also offer similar features when it comes to custom integration. Integra receivers have key features that allow custom integration with other home theater systems, including IP control via a web browser, memory and recall of dealer settings, and compatibility with Control4, Crestron, and RTI automation systems.

Integra speakers use a proprietary room equalization system known as AccuEQ. This feature uses a microphone to measure the sound quality of the room and automatically adjusts levels and crossover frequencies for the optimal sound. These speakers also support DTS:X, HD-Master Audio, and Dolby Atmos.

Onkyo and Integra both offer 7.2-channel models. The TX-NR5100 is the cheapest of the four models, while the TX-RZ50 is the largest and most expensive. The Onkyo TX-RZ50 is THX Select-certified, with outputs of 165Wpc into 8-ohms. This amplifier also offers facilities to connect two pairs of speakers, although the manual warns against doing so.

The main difference between Integra and Onkyo is their level of quality control. Integra uses higher grade components, while Onkyo uses lower-grade components. Integra also comes with a longer warranty than Onkyo. Sadly, some Integra models are subject to defects, and the company has recalled all models, including the flagship DTR 80.3 and 50.3.

The Integra DTR 50.3 has a familiar Integra design. It has a long row of input selector buttons on the right and a large silver volume button on the front panel. It also has a built-in phono input and six analog inputs.

They have THX certification

Onkyo and Integra have partnered with THX to produce THX-certified receivers. The THX certification ensures that the products are compatible and that they can play well with other THX-certified devices. THX certified receivers also offer several features that can help you get the most out of your home theater. Among these features are a dedicated listening mode and a multi-channel amplifier with a wide frequency response.

Both Onkyo and Integra have THX-certified receivers that offer a range of advanced features and capabilities. These receivers feature dual HDMI 1.1 inputs and outputs for simplicity. Additionally, both are THX-certified and can play multi-channel audio and HD video.

THX certification is important for home theater systems because it guarantees that speakers will deliver high-quality sound. These receivers have undergone a variety of tests and must meet certain specifications in order to earn the certification. Onkyo is the first consumer electronics brand to receive THX certification, and the Onkyo TX-NR905 is the first receiver to earn this distinction.

Integra has upgraded its line of AV receivers with the DRX-5.2 ($1,700) and DRX-4.2 ($1,400). These receivers are THX-certified and Sonos-compatible. However, the Integra BD-SP809 will be more expensive, and includes additional features such as HDMI ports and online media streaming support.

The Onkyo TX-NR7100 is the next step up in the Onkyo brand. The DRX-R1.1 has an 11 channel amplifier. It features a lower total harmonic distortion and a higher signal-to-noise ratio. Both receivers also support HDR10+.

They have 9 and 7 channel amplifiers

Onkyo and Integra both make home theater amplifiers with nine channels. These two models are similar but differ in many aspects. The Integra has more channels and a more sophisticated room correction system. It also offers lower total harmonic distortion and a better signal-to-noise ratio. Compared to the Onkyo, the Integra is more powerful. It can deliver up to 100 W per channel at eight ohms. Both amplifiers are equipped with DACs for Zones two and three.

Integra has the M-500, while Onkyo has the Onkyo M-508. The Onkyo M-508 is a true dual-mono amplifier with two separate amplifiers mounted on a single chassis. Its power transformer is small but has a hefty gauge cord. The Onkyo M-508’s power supply features Onkyo’s “Real-Phase” power supply, which couples positive and negative charging currents to improve the rejection of common-mode power-supply noise. Onkyo’s amplifiers also have the advantage of delaying digital audio signals, which allows them to suppress HF overloads.

Integra has a long history, going back to 1969. It was initially a subset of Onkyo, but became a standalone brand in 1999. Over the years, Integra has expanded into a huge global network of audio-video specialists. As a result, their products are well-engineered and tested to the highest standards.

While Onkyo has an impressive lineup of amplifiers, Integra makes some of the best. Their 9-channel models have excellent performance in a variety of audio formats. Whether it’s MP3 or WMA, these high-quality speakers are capable of playing any type of music.
