adidas Nizza Hi – Collaboration With BAIT and the Japanese Street Racing Manga Series Initial D
adidas and BAIT have teamed up for a limited-edition Nizza High, taking inspiration from the Japanese street racing manga Initial D, which launched in 1995. The shoe features a white canvas upper with a suede heel overlay and rubberized toe cap. A black stripe sits along the heel, bearing the BAIT wordmark and the Initial D logo.
The adidas Nizza Hi retails for $120. You can purchase a pair online or at any BAIT US chapter. You can also enter a raffle for the Nizza Hi. The raffle ends July 30 and winners will be notified by email on the following day. Once you’ve entered the raffle, you can buy your new Nizza Hi from BAIT. You must use the same name, email, and address when checking out. Otherwise, your order will be cancelled.
In addition to BAIT collaborating with adidas for a limited-edition Nizza High, the company also teamed up with street racing manga series Initial D. Inspired by Takumi Fujiwara’s Toyota AE86, the Nizza High features a white canvas upper with a black suede heel strip and a rubberized toe cap. The shoe also features a black rectangle on the heel which refers to the Japanese license plate.
The adidas Nizza Hi features a tread-like pattern on the midsole, and Japanese text in the center. The shoe is also inspired by Takumi Fujiwara’s home, the Fujiwara Tofu Shop. The insoles feature a manga-style graphic of the Toyota AE86.
BAIT and adidas collaborated on a One Punch Man Montreal 76 shoe earlier this year, and this latest collaboration uses the same design principles. The Nizza Hi features a white canvas upper with BAIT branding and Initial D branding on the heel and ankle. Moreover, the shoes also feature a black vulc tab which refers to the Japanese license plate. They’re designed to be functional and comfortable.
