2019 Santa Cruz Hightower LT Review

The 2019 Santa Cruz Hightower LT offers performance, versatility and comfort, and is one of the company’s most popular bikes. This versatile bike has several key features, including threaded bottom brackets, internal cable routing, and rubber grommets to protect the cables from trail debris. Available in Carbon C or Carbon CC, the Hightower LT offers a versatile ride for aggressive trail riding, while still packing enough punch to compete in a race.

The Hightower features a wide, 800mm handlebar and short stem, which helps it tackle chunky, steep terrain confidently. It also features a dropper post with 175mm of travel. The bike comes standard with a 29” wheel and tire setup, but can also be ordered with a 27.5″ setup. The Active rear of the bike is equipped with VPP suspension for increased comfort and control. All cables are internally routed, making them easy to access and adjust. The bike is equipped with a bottle holder for hydration.

The Hightower LT 29er is built for maximum speed in the biggest mountains. Its design is the product of rigorous testing and racing at various events. It comes with Fox 36 Performance Forks and SRAM GX Eagle drive train. In addition, the S spec boasts Rockshox reverb dropper post and RaceFace/DtSwiss wheelset.

The Hightower LT has a burly, stiff frame with Virtual Pivot Point suspension, which has been used by Santa Cruz since 1994. The VPP suspension system gives riders a smooth ride that is comfortable even when the trail gets rowdy. The front and rear suspensions are equipped with 150mm of travel. The bike also has a wide range of travel, with an anti-squat tune that gives riders the confidence to take it further.

If you are unhappy with the quality of your bike, Santa Cruz offers a warranty on parts and labor. However, the warranty does not cover custom finishes, damage caused by commercial use, or normal wear and tear. In addition, the warranty does not cover any modifications to the bike outside of its intended use.
